Study course 2019

We are looking forward to the first module of the study course “von allem sein”. Deeply woven into the Arctic world, students will experience connected thinking and explore the infinite realities of the cosmos. Specially created textbooks will not only document experiences, but form the unique basis of a new holistic educational curriculum.

The connectedness of all existing school subjects creates a new reality, from which the teachers continue to draw from, to accompany children into a future that no longer represents just an unknown past.

“Von allem sein” also means committing to a reality which the sciences and arts have given us over the last few decades. It’s about the whole.

Due to the overwhelming interest of the study course, we are delighted to announce a further course for 2019.
Registration is possible from now on. An information day is going to take place on 27th October 2018 in the Dorfschule, Kleineberharts.

For a further 10 participants, a very special journey begins in the summer 2019 … “von allem sein”

it’s do or die now

In the continuous media storm, our attention is drawn to migration, conflicts, climate change and crime rates. Excessive demands, fear and powerlessness become companions of many people, desperation destroys the last hopes, connectedness and confidence are not experienceable concepts of unknown worlds of life.

Here and there, even diminutive self-proclaimed rescuers emerge, completely free of morality and intelligence, trying to seize power.

But do not we live under a completely different cultural and world-bound heaven than we are permanently told?

Hans Peter Dürr, the grandiose representative of holistic physics, always warned against giving too much importance to matter. Life is more fundamental than the rigid elements, the material.

From a notion that is and always is, the universe redefines every moment, and us humans are able to consciously solve and realise thoughts from this idea.

The future does not have to be the unknown past, but it depends on us humans how we shape it. We could do something with the future that has not happened before. Maybe our minds are only useful for survival but not suitable for understanding the world, because the real structure of the world is not tangible.

Reality is therefore potentiality and we are capable of living it.
Konstantin Wecker wrote: … it’s about doing and not about winning …

in this sense: von allem sein.

Resonance Education

Education is an attitude that carries with it the desire to take on the world. Listening to something, being touched, and resonating with it transforms the listener as much as the piece of the world to which they have opened.

The sociologist Hartmut Rosa, in his book “Resonanz” he argues in favour of “Resonance Education”: It aims to provide people with an insight onto the world, such as poetry, history or biology, coming into contact with it in such a way that the object transforms them. That an object enables them to hear and respond to other people is a prerequisite that we need in social life.

Using the example of poetry, the difference between resonance and competence can be explained well: Competence is to determine the rhyme scheme and measure, to interpret literary topoi, images and metaphors. To be moved by a poem, to be grasped and grasped by it, is something completely different. If a poem does that, it will come to our minds after thirty years, because we acquired it in such a way that it changed the way we relate to the world. Without this ability we wither individually and culturally.

To transform the world is the central idea of our study course “von allem sein“. The more world we open up, the more our children will be interested in turning their world around.

There are still two places available. For dedicated and courageous people, who want to assimilate themselves into this world for three years!

a good year

The first study course “von allem sein” was launched this year and the first group of committed educators will set off. For three years, they will gain experience and study in a wonderful atmosphere, and in the future, uniquely accompany young people on their way to transforming the world.

Another study trip for the young students of the Dorfschule to Lapland has been announced, leaving at the end of June the enthusiastic “earth children” are going to be heading north.

In times like these, more and more courage is needed to break new ground, and the advancing isolation of the individual in society places loyalty on the red list of human virtues.

That is precisely why we are proud and grateful to continue along the path to connected thinking and teaching together with committed and enthusiastic people of all ages.

new ways of education

In our major years of education, from conception to the end of adolescence, we make those formative experiences that mature our personality and our intelligence. The conclusion of this, our most important years, marks another transition, from adolescent to adulthood, as well as from the birth to the future.

We don’t recognise the importance of these first years, the quality of our schools and kindergartens by asking how our children have survived this period. Rather, we should ask ourselves who they have become in these school years.

If nothing striking has happened during our years of education, this may be a sign of a relatively enjoyable time, but it doesn’t say that it was a time of potential development, the successful search for meaning of life, the development of our personality, and our intelligence.

But that’s exactly what it should be, and that’s exactly what parents and educators should take care of and take responsibility for. The future needs a background and the future of the child is the future of our society.

We need new ways of education and this starts with us adults and with the fact that we manage to rethink education, so we set ourselves on the new path.

Divided world

Elections across many European countries show that more and more people are joining political movements, which promise them above all one thing: to free them from their fears.

These fears show the alienation of Western societies and the loss of life security. In the time of Maria Montessori one knew these phenomena, the politics offered solutions, but to no avail.

For a long time we have been aware of what causes these fears and that the only way out of alienation can be through a growing bond.

With the desire to be connected and at the same time “to grow out of ourselves” we come into the world. Stable bonding and holistic formation are the necessary components of this desired fulfillment.

“vom allem sein”, the study course on networked thinking and teaching, enables participants to cultivate this bond again and give it back to the children of this world.

Be part of the first Montessori study course “vom allem sein”, which begins in summer 2018. Invite other people to take the path to being connected. The closing date for applications is the 30th November 2017.

Networked Thinking – Networked Teaching – Increasing the Conventional.
New ways of learning for tomorrow’s world.

a new learning culture

The Montessori study course “von allem sein” is to be different from the previous course, but in all respects unique. For the first time there is the possibility to study Maria Montessori’s cosmic curriculum for young people on the way to higher maturity in an atmosphere of fresh learning culture.

Also the necessary teaching aids and working models for supporting the young people are created automatically and an awareness of the high scientific and poetic atmosphere of these years is developed for this new learning culture.

K. E. Palmgren, director of a Swedish school (Samskola) wrote at the end of the 19th Century about a teacher’s picture:
It is not a matter of coming into the Samskola and merely giving a lesson. It is a matter of deeply grasping ones profession, feeling and experience. Here I now stand in the place of the father and the mother, I must not only teach, but also give it meaning that helps to strengthen the character of the young children, that the youths feel they have a friend before them, that they are an influence of the living personality of the teacher’s feelings and experiences themselves, so that the student, on their part, give the teacher the best that they have, their confidence, their life-long hope for the future, and their joy. (Translated)

Similarly, some years later Rainer Maria Rilke in his letter “Samskola” in which he wrote:
And in relation to life, this school does not want to be different, so it does not need teachers who take this profession; they must not be seized by their profession. It is not enough for them to rule an object; for this object must stand in the open air, and it must not be isolated, not cut off, not lifted from all contexts if something stirs in the world, it must tremble and sound, one must be able to remember it, and the life of the various subjects will always be the subject of life.” (Translated)

The Montessori study course “von allem sein” offers interested people the opportunity to become teachers of a new learning culture, providing a unique opportunity to explore new paths.

Information day for the Montessori study course

In the summer of 2018, for the first time in Europe, a Montessori study course, dealing with the years of higher education will be starting. Maria Montessori also thought about this part of life, some of which has been handed down in her writings.

Our course “Beyond Everything” brings these thoughts together in an intensive, three-year education program and gives the participants the opportunity to become professional tutors of adolescents on their way to higher maturity.

On the 30th September 2017, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, we are offering interested students the opportunity to get to know the Montessori way. The course program, location and this unique event will be presented in the form of lectures, talks and experiences.

Please register by e-mail or via the enclosed form.

Unique children need unique teachers!

Arctic Montessori Institute

With the start of our Montessori study course in the summer of 2018, we will be opening the Arctic Montessori Institute on the idyllic island of Ekkerøy in the north of Norway. Where we have had numerous study trips with the secondary school children: in arctic plains.

Why in this region of Europe, some may ask. The vibrant diversity of one of the world’s large living spaces and the adaptive capacity of previous human cultures for climate and vegetation and their cultural strength are hardly visible in any other place.

In the area around the Varanger peninsula you can find the Siberian Taiga, the Fjell scenery of the Tundra, the alpine highlands not far from the beach landscapes of the Barents Sea. Fresh water meets salt water, wide skies on barren rock. For more than 10,000 years people have populated this region and made this vast, quiet and unique expanse home.

Through the exposed position beyond the Arctic Circle, every day one is reminded about the history of the earth’s formation and the miraculous relationship between sun and earth. In the summer, because the sun doesn’t go behind the horizon it shines in the night from the north and during the winter it doesn’t exceed the horizon for many weeks.

Networked thinking also means to ask central questions about the “where from” and the “where to” and the relationship to learn, read and interpret contexts. At the Varanger fjord we find the best opportunities in the sense of Maria Montessori to study nature, life and ourselves.
